Ulrika Dahl is a writer, cultural anthropologist and Associate Professor of gender studies at Södertörn University, where she is also director of the PhD program. Among her publications are The Geopolitics of Nordic and Russian Gender Research 1975-2005 (with Marianne Liljeström and Ulla Manns, 2016), Skamgrepp: Femme-inistiska Essäer (2014) and Femmes of Power: Exploding Queer Femininities (with Del Lagrace Volcano, 2008) and a wide range of articles on queer femininities in Gender, Place and Culture, NORA, Tidskrift för Genusvetenskap, lambda nordica and Feminist Theory (forthcoming). Currently, Ulrika leads the research project Queer(y)ing Kinship in the Baltic Region and she also serves as editor-in-chief of lambda nordica- Nordic journal of LGBTQ studies.
Elina Oinas is professor in Sociology at the Swedish School of Social Science, University of Helsinki, Finland. She has previously worked in Development Studies in UH, in Sociology in University of Turku, Gender Studies in Åbo Akademi and in the Nordic Africa Institute, Uppsala Sweden. Her fields of interest are girls, the body, health and politics. She currently leads a research consortium funded by the Academy of Finland on youth and political engagements in contemporary Africa with Leena Suurpää. The project uses ethnography and qualitative methods in a variety of rather demanding settings across the African continent.
